NANAKULI
Share views on landfill plan

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu City Planning Commission invites the public to attend a meeting on Mayor Mufi Hannemann's proposal to extend use of the Waimanalo Gulch Landfill in Nanakuli for two years.

The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Mission Memorial Auditorium, City Hall Annex, at 550 S. King St.

The landfill has been set to shut down in May of next year. But the mayor wants to extend the landfill's use for two years or until the site reaches its permitted capacity, whichever comes first.

The public is asked to attend the hearing and comment on the extension proposal.
