What are you most proud of? "Bringing our school vision to life by creating a community of lifelong learners: Every child reading, writing and learning. Every family engaged in their children's education. Every staff member holding students to high expectations," said Faye Ogilvie, Honaunau Elementary School principal. "Partnerships with parents. At Honaunau School, parents have many opportunities to learn along with their children through regularly scheduled "Read With Me" and "Count Me In" parent/student activities."

What is your biggest challenge? "Keeping up with technology and providing opportunities for students to learn and apply technology in their everyday learning," Ogilvie said. "Living in a rural community on the Big Island, our students have limited exposure to the world outside of Honaunau School. One of our challenges is bringing the world to our students and teaching them to dream big."
