UH hoops: Twilight Ohana has scrimmages and more

The University of Hawaii men's and women's basketball teams will officially begin fall practice at "Twilight 'Ohana," Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Admission is free and the doors to the Stan Sheriff Center will open at 7 p.m.

Fans will have the opportunity to see both teams and the players will be available on the court for autographs and photos. There will also be basketball shooting contests for prizes and free tickets.

The event will also include the "Honolulu Ford Shot For Tuition." Two students (one male and one female) will win $750 each towards their UH tuition, free season tickets for men's basketball, and membership in the school's official student spirit group, the Manoa Maniacs. Students wishing to compete must register for the contest at Gate A between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The schedule

7 p.m. — Stan Sheriff Center Gates Open

7 to 8 p.m. — Autographs & Photos with Player & Coaches

8 p.m. — Introduction of Players & Coaching Staffs

8:15 p.m. — Three-Point Shooting Contest & Slam-Dunk Competition

8:50 p.m. — "Honolulu Ford Shot for Tuition" for UH Students

9 p.m. — Women's Team Scrimmage

9:20 p.m. — Men's Team Scrimmage
