Wireless phone donations aid domestic-violence fight

Advertiser Staff

Verizon Wireless is asking the public to join in the fight against domestic violence by donating used wireless phones and accessories to the HopeLine program.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.

Through the HopeLine program used wireless phones, batteries and accessories from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold.

Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and refurbished wireless phones with airtime to nonprofit human services and law enforcement agencies to aid victims of domestic violence.

In the past two years, Verizon Wireless has donated more than $100,000 in HopeLine grants and wireless phones with airtime to domestic violence agencies in Hawai'i.

Wireless phones and equipment can be donated to the HopeLine program year-round at any Verizon Wireless Communications store.
