Find the Wine! event at Cassis Wine Bar Oct. 20

After a sold-out debut session, Cassis Wine Bar and Gourmet Cooking Hawaii will team up again for an evening of food and wine pairings at 6 p.m. Oct. 20.

The evening includes a four course pupu-style menu created by George Mavrothalassitis and executive chef Ben Takahashi, eight wine pairings and narration by two wine experts.

Todd Ashline, sommelier at Chef Mavro, and Collin Darrell, sommelier at Cassis, will orchestrate the event and add stimulating commentary so participants can discover which wine pairings they like best.

On the menu: Hamakua mushroom risotto, flounder grenobloise, lamb tagine and Cassis' signature goat cheese purse with eggplant marmalade.

Cost: $65.

Gourmet Cooking Hawaii also arranges for private Find the Wine! events for up to 35 guests at Cassis Wine Bar 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays.
