BeachBoys, Sharks triumph

Michael Wilson and Justin Sellers each drove in three runs to lead the Waikiki BeachBoys over the North Shore Honu, 10-6, yesterday in Hawaii Winter Baseball at Hans L'Orange Park.

Wilson went 3 for 5, hitting his third homer of the season to tie him with two others for the league lead. Sellers was 2 for 5 with a triple for the BeachBoys (7-3).

Starter Yutaka Tamaki (1-1) was the beneficiary of strong run support, as he allowed four runs (all earned) and seven hits with five strikeouts in four innings. Kyohei Muranaka pitched three scoreless innings for his second save.

Lou Santangelo went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Masahiro Nagata had a double and three RBIs for the Honu (6-4).

Kevin Roberts (1-1) gave up four runs in 1 1/3 innings for North Shore.

In the late game, relief pitcher Anthony Claggett induced Jeff Bianchi to hit into a game-ending double play with runners at first and third as the Honolulu Sharks held off the West Oahu CaneFires, 8-7.

Tyler Flowers hit a three-run homer for the Sharks (4-5-1), while Ryan Rogowski hit a three-run shot for the CaneFires (2-7-1).
