Swimmer, 16, missing off Kaaawa

The search continues for a missing 16-year-old swimmer on the windward side off Ka'a'awa.HFD Capt. Robert Main said the missing 16-year-old boy and two friends were swimming off Kamehameha Highway and Puakenikeni Road at about 3:30 p.m. when the boy got in trouble in the water and went missing.
The boy was reported missing at 4:10 p.m.
His friends made it safely to shore.
The Coast Guard is still searching the area with a helicopter and the cutter Ahi, a spokeswoman said at 7:30 p.m. They intended to search all night, she said.
The HFD search has been suspended for the night and will be resumed at first light tomorrow, Main said.
