The final competitive hunter/jumper event in the Hawaii Horse Show Association season happens today at the Circle C Equestrian Center, 41-539 Makakalo St., Waimanalo.

One pair of award-winning competitors has a special story to tell. The horse Gypsy King slowly lost his eyesight to a degenerative disease, but under the guidance and patience of his owner and rider, Georgia Tien, the team is up to the challenge of competition.

The event begins at 9 a.m., with warmups at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free.
