Rescue crews have found the body of a 16-year-old swimmer who disappeared in waters off the Windward side of O'ahu yesterday afternoon.

The body was identified by the HonolulU Medical Examiner's office as Cory Kimo Aiwohi, a student at Kailua High School.

HFD renewed its search, launching the HFD's Air One helicopter, a boat and other firefighting units off of Ka'a'awa shortly after 6 a.m. today.

The Coast Guard used a helicopter and the cutter Ahi last night to search for the boy, who got in trouble while swimming with friends around 3:30 p.m.

Honolulu Fire Capt. Robert Main said the boy was swimming with three friends off Kamehameha Highway and Puakenikeni Road.

The friends returned safely to shore and reported the boy missing at 4:10 p.m.
