Warriors continue to lead NCAA statistics in scoring

The University of Hawai'i football team continues to lead the nation in scoring, averaging 52.1 points, according to the latest statistics released by the NCAA.

The Warriors (7-0) defeated San Jose State, 42-35, in overtime on Friday. Kansas is No. 2 in scoring with a 50.3 points-per-game average.

UH quarterback Colt Brennan is No. 2 in total offense with 405.5 yards per game, behind Texas Tech's Graham Harrell (445.7).

Harrell leads in total passing yards with 3,151, followed by Louisville's Brian Brohm (2,765) and Brennan (2,395).

Brennan is 13th in passing efficiency with a 157.2 rating (196 of 282 for 2,395 yards and 20 touchdowns). Sam Bradford of Oklahoma leads with a 181.1 rating.

Three UH receivers are among the best in receiving yards per game behind Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree who is averaging 177.71 yards. Ryan Grice-Mullins is No. 6 (108.14), Jason Rivers No. 10 (104.17) and Davone Bess No. 23 (90.86).

Hawai'i is No. 4 in total offense with 538.6 yards per game. Texas Tech is No. 1 with 582 yards per game. UH is 29th in total defense allowing 324.1 yards per game; Ohio State is No. 1 with a 211.8 average.

UH is second in passing offense with 464.4 yards per game with Texas Tech leading with a 500.4-yard average.

The Warriors are seventh in kickoff returns with a 27.5 yard average with Kansas leading with 31.4.

Colorado linebacker Jordon Dizon, a Kaua'i native, leads the nation in tackles per game with 12.71. UH's Solomon Elimimian is tied for 6th at 11.57.
