Tennis: Djokovic captures BA-CA Trophy in Vienna

VIENNA, Austria — Top-seeded Novak Djokovic beat Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-0 Sunday in the final of the BA-CA Tennis Trophy for his fifth ATP title of the season.

"Great to win another title," the 20-year-old Serb said. "I was good in the first set, but I played some incredible tennis in the second. This was another confirmation of my great shape this year."

Djokovic, who had already qualified for the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai, also won this year in Adelaide, Miami, Estoril, and Montreal, and lost finals in Indian Wells and at the U.S. Open.

It was the seventh overall title for the third-ranked Serb.

Wawrinka played and lost his second final of the season having also lost to Rafael Nadal in Stuttgart.

"Of course I am disappointed to lose this final, but I have had a great week," the unseeded Swiss said. "It was nice to reach a final at an indoor hard-court event."

Wawrinka's three previous ATP finals were all at clay-court tournaments, including his 2006 victory in Umag, Croatia.

Djokovic used his only break chance to take the lead in the first set, but had to save a break point while serving at 5-4.

Wawrinka lost serve again in the opening game of the second set when he netted a backhand. He scored only four points in the second set, which lasted just over 20 minutes.

"That was one of the best sets of my life," Djokovic said. "I played very aggressive and changed the pace a lot."
