Earthquake hits south of Fiji Ises; no tsunami reported

A strong earthquake was recorded about 11:06 a.m. this morning Hawai'i time south of the Fiji Islands.The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center listed a preliminary magnitude for the quake at 6.6.
Based on earthquake and historical tsunami data, no tsunami was generated, the Warning Center said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries stemming from the temblor.
