The Cardinals are still determining how much Warner will be able to play while the injury heals.

Warner hopes to have some role in Sunday's game at Washington, but his practice availability won't be determined until this morning.

If Warner can't go, Tim Rattay is expected to start.

Warner's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said the team is fitting him with a left arm brace to keep the arm stabilized.

"He has to get the strength back to hand the ball off properly," Bartelstein said. "He's going to get everything managed the next few days." Warner hinted Sunday he might not miss much action because the bye week follows this week's game, but Bartelstein said there was no immediate timetable for his return, saying how well he can manage the pain will determine when he sees the field again.

The Cardinals also signed Tim Hasselbeck to be the third-string quarterback.

Hasselbeck, the brother of Seattle starter Matt Hasselbeck, was inactive for all of last season with the New York Giants, and appeared in only two games for them in 2005.

The Cards released defensive end Quentin Moses to make room on the roster.

The team also released quarterback Matt Baker from the practice squad.
