Festival of Hope and Light kicks off tomorrow

Hawaii Revival Mission presents "A Festival of Hope and Light" this weekend at the Waikiki Shell.

The free event begins Friday with 5 p.m. concerts.

Speakers from Japan and the United States are partnering for the event.

Artists include Ron Brown, Doc Powell, Makeda, Tim Kepler, Eyvonne Williams and Dwayne "Smitty Smith. Speakers include Akira Takimoto, Paul Kiichi Ariga, Shuji Hiraoka, Jun Takimoto and Joe Hite.

There will be free shuttle bus service from Waikiki Shell to Kapiolani Community College from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. tomorrow through Sunday.

Hawaii Revival Mission is a branch of All Japan Revival Mission; it grew out of an outreach held at Koshien baseball stadium in Japan, which in 1993 held the first meeting to be organized, executed and preached by Japanese Christians.
