North Shore surf could peak at 10 feet today

Advertiser Staff

Could winter be too far off? Last week, the first humpback whale of the season was spotted off Molokai. Today, surf along north-facing shores will be increasing to 6 to 10 feet because of a north-northwest swell, the National Weather Service said. Several swells from the north and north are passing through Hawaii and will build Friday night and again lat Monday.

The peak heights will be near advisory levels along north-facing shores, the National Weather Service said. Tiny, but persistent, south and southeast swells will arrive through the weekend and into next week.

The rest of the surf forecast calls for surf to be 3 to 5 feet along west shores, 2 to 3 feet along east shores and 1 to 3 feet along south shores.
