Traffic changes on Farrington near Kahe Power Plant

Advertiser Staff

A traffic advisory has been issued this morning for Waianae residents heading in the town-bound direction on Farrington Highway.

The Board of Water Supply has located a leak in a 24-inch pipe that was reported yesterday afternoon and has shut down one lane in the town-bound direction near the Kahe Power Plant to make repairs, BWS spokeswoman Wanda Yamane said.

To help relieve traffic, Yamane said one Nanakuli-bound lane will be used for town-bound commuters this morning.

"The repair crew will be out there all morning but we want people to know there will be two lanes open," Yamane said. "We want to remind motorists to drive carefully through that area."

The main break didn't affect service to any BWS customers.
