BOE meeting today in Kailua

A state Board of Education is starting at 3:30 p.m. today in the Kailua Intermediate School Cafeteria. The meeting is open to the public.Part of the agenda will be the presentation and recognition of the 2008 District Teachers of the Year and the Hawaii State Teacher of the Year. Also, the new state librarian will be introduced along with the announcement of a four-year contract for the Superintendent of Education. Several other items will also be discussed.
The meeting will resume at 7 p.m. with recommendations for action on various subjects.
