Molokai, Baldwin clinch state girls volleyball berths

PUKALANI, Maui — The Moloka'i High School and Baldwin High girls volleyball teams clinched state berths after winning their Maui Interscholatic League tournament matches today at Kamehameha-Maui.

Moloka'i defeated St. Anthony 25-11, 25-17 in their Division II semifinal match. Moloka'i advances to face regular-season champion Seabury Hall in tomorrow's final. Seabury Hall, ranked fifth in the Advertiser's poll, swept Hana 25-11, 25-15.

In the Division I semifinals, Baldwin earned a berth after beating King Kekaulike 25-27, 25-12, 25-19. In the other semifinal, Kamehameha-Maui swept Maui 25-19, 25-13.

Kamehameha-Maui and Seabury Hall had already clinched state berths after winning the MIL Division I and Division II regular seasons.

Today—Kamehameha-Maui def. Maui 25-19, 25-13. Baldwin def. King Kekaulike 25-27, 25-12, 25-19.

Championship

Tomorrow—Kamehameha-Maui (9-2) vs. Baldwin (7-4), 5:30 p.m.

Overall championship

Saturday—Kamehameha-Maui vs. Baldwin, 5:30 p.m. (only if Baldwin wins on Friday).

Division II

Semifinals

Today—Seabury Hall def. Hana 25-11, 25-15. Moloka'i def. St. Anthony 25-11, 25-17.

Championship

Tomorrow—Seabury Hall (11-0) vs. Moloka'i (10-1), 7:30 p.m.

Overall championship

Saturday—Seabury Hall vs. Moloka'i, 4 p.m. (only if Moloka'i wins on Friday).
