NFL: Tank Johnson begins practice with Cowboys

Associated Press

IRVING, Texas — Suspended defensive tackle Tank Johnson is back on the practice field.

Johnson, signed by the Cowboys after he was cut by the Chicago Bears, can't play in a game until Nov. 11 at the New York Giants. He went through stretching exercises today and mostly watched during individual drills that were open to the media.

It was Johnson's first team session since the NFL suspended him eight games for violating probation on a gun charge after he was pulled over for speeding. He has two games left on his suspension.

The Bears, who lost the Super Bowl to Indianapolis, released him shortly after the traffic stop. The Cowboys signed him last month.
