School advisory group formed

Advertiser Staff

Kaiser High School's School Community Council has appointed Debra Takahashi as the parent representative for the advisory group established by the state Department of Education to help govern the school.

Carl Makino was named as the new community representative and was chosen chairman of the council group. Sean Barrett was chosen again as vice chairman. Community councils provide a forum on how to improve student achievement. They are made up of the school's principal, teachers, staff, students and community members.

Earlier this school year, the school issued a plea for more members.
