CFB: No. 15 Missouri stops Harrell, Texas Tech, 41-10

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Chase Daniel threw for 210 yards and a touchdown and No. 15 Missouri intercepted Graham Harrell four times, returning one for a score while throttling the nation's top offense in a 41-10 victory over No. 22 Texas Tech today.

Backup tailback Jackson had 59 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries filling in for Tony Temple, sidelined a second straight game by a sprained ankle.

Freshman Derrick Washington added 66 yards on nine carries for Missouri (6-1, 2-1 Big 12), which rebounded from a 10-point loss at Oklahoma last week and is 2-1 during a three-game stretch against ranked opponents.

Missouri has won 13 of its last 14 at home.

The scoring total was by far a season low for Texas Tech (6-2, 2-2), which entered the game first in points (50) and yards (582) per game. Missouri scored on its first four possessions of the second half to top its 40-point average in a game that didn't come close to fulfilling expectations of a back-and-forth pointfest.

Texas Tech entered the rankings last week after a 35-7 victory over Texas A&M. The high point for the Red Raiders Saturday was a 68-yard touchdown pass from Harrell to Edward Britton in the second quarter that cut Missouri's lead to 10-7. Harrell, who entered the game with 31 TD passes and only three interceptions, was 44 for 69 for 397 yards.

He completed 83 percent of his passes the previous two weeks, going 66-for-80 for seven touchdowns with one interception. The attempts was a season high and the yardage is second-lowest of the year and fewest against a major college opponent.
