Broken hydrant results in geyser in Ewa

Advertiser Staff

Police and firefighters have been sent to an area on Kikoo Street in the Fernandez Village area of 'Ewa where a fire hydrant has been sheared off.

A 30-foot tall column of water is shooting into the air and a nearby house is being inundated by the geyser.

The Fire Department was notified of the problem about 11:40 p.m. and dispatched a team of firefighters from the Waipahu Fire Station to the area.
