Leilehua High back to normal after campus fight

Advertiser Staff

After a fight and rumors of weapons on campus last week, Leilehua High School was back to normal today, principal Aloha Coleman said.

Because of the rumors — which were unsubstantiated and stemmed from a fight on Thursday — the school allowed students to stay home Friday and today. The school also had a police officer on campus today, and the military sent a couple of personnel to the school at various times of the day, Coleman said.

Coleman said about half the student body went home on Friday and estimated about 80 percent of students came to school today. She said she delivered a video message that students watched this morning. It said, among other things, that the school is safe.
