Firefighters rescue visitor at Sunset Beach

Advertiser Staff

Firefighters tonight paddled out on surfboards to rescue a tourist at Sunset Beach.

Honolulu Fire Department companies from the Sunset Beach and Waialua stations responded shortly before 7 p.m. to look for a body boarder reported missing offshore.

Firefighters located the 36-year-old male visitor and brought him to shore at about 7:30 p.m., Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said. The man was not injured.
