Body of missing Kaneohe woman retrieved below Pali

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu Fire Department and police crews this morning recovered the body of a missing Kane'ohe woman below the Pali Highway, officials said.

A rescue company rappelled down the slopes on the Kailua side of the highway's tunnel and found the woman at about 9 a.m., said Capt. Terry Seelig, fire department spokesman.

Police yesterday asked for the public's help with finding Paula Marie Iverson, 52, who was last seen walking on Pali Highway on Friday at 12:45 p.m.

Iverson was reportedly walking toward the Pali Lookout, police said. A police news release said she was reportedly emotionally distraught.

No foul play is suspected, officials said. The Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office will determine cause of death.
