Punahou, Sacred Hearts capture state air riflery titles

Punahou's boys and Sacred Hearts' girls won team championships today at the Civilian Marksmanship Program Air Riflery State Championships at Blaisdell Center exhibition hall.

Christopher Lam of Saint Louis won the boys' individual title. Meilin Jia-Richards of Punahou captured the girls' crown.

Punahou's boys scored 2,034 points, followed by Waiakea (2,012), Pearl City (2,010), Roosevelt (1,915) and Kapolei (1,903). Davin Lee of Punahou scored 520 points to finsh second to Lam's 522 points. Other members of Punahou's team were Chris Han, Nigel Kojimoto and Bert Weeks.

Sacred Hearts' girls scored 2,080 points, followed by Punahou (2,069), Waiakea (2,027), Kalani (1,983) and Pearl City (1,950). Mai Oseto of Sacred Hearts scored 531 points to finish second to Jia-Richards' 538. Other members of Sacred Hearts' team were Jenna Wojcik, Samantha Niver and Danielle Pontes.
