Oahu's catastrophe-response group to meet tomorrow

The Honolulu Department of Emergency Management's Telecommunication Utility Working Group will hold its first meeting tomorrow morning in the County Emergency Operating Center.The group, composed of representatives of companies that provide a telecommunication or utility service to O'ahu residents, aims to ensure timely and efficient communications when a catastrophe next hits O'ahu.
The 10 a.m. meeting will feature opening remarks by Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann, as well as a presentation by George Burnett, telecommunication branch chief for the state Civil Defense Division.
