Hawaii jobless rate steady at 2.6% in September

Hawai'i's jobless rate remained at 2.6 percent in September, which was among the lowest unemployment rates in the nation.

It was the third straight month at that rate, according to the State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.

The national seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate inched up by 0.1 percentage point in September to 4.7 percent. One year ago, Hawai'i and the U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rates stood at 2.2 percent and 4.6 percent respectively.

In September there were 634,950 employed and 17,100 unemployed in Hawai'i, for a total seasonally-adjusted statewide labor force of 652,050.
