Kumu hula Blaine Kia presents trilogy of hula Saturday

With the release of his new CD, "Moea: Onward," kumu hula Blaine Kia will present a concert with the Ladies of Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and the Men of Halau Kahulaliwa at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Pearl City Cultural Center.

The ho'ike will include a trilogy of hula conceived by Kia which pays homage to the past, the present and the future. The evening will tap male, women and keiki hula in both kahiko (ancient) and 'auana (modern) forms.

Tickets are $20, available at the box office from 6 p.m. on concert day, or in advance at Native Books/Na Mea Hawai'i at Ward Warehouse, telephone 596-8885.
