State Sen. Mike Gabbard will be on the Hot Seat today for a live blog chat from noon to 1 p.m.The former Republican switched political parties in the middle of his term. The senator is well-known for his position against civil unions and abortion rights, key elements of the Democratic platform. Democratic party leaders nonetheless welcomed Gabbard, noting that their party has had a longstanding policy of inclusion.
