KAILUA
Fighting drugs with slogans

Advertiser Staff

Students at Kailua and Lanikai elementary schools launched drug-free week Monday with activities planned all week, including a helicopter landing at Lanikai and featuring police tactics for tracking drugs.

At Lanikai, each day has a theme and slogan, such as Put a Cap on Drugs, and Lay Off Drugs (students are expected to wear a lei).

At Kailua, students kicked off the week with sign waving, and their slogans include Reach for the Stars Not Drugs and Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It DRUG FREE.

Kailua will have a mini-carnival, and Lanikai students will get a bracelet representing a pledge to be drug-free.
