PEARL CITY — The Western Division had pin-point control of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association bowling championships today at Leeward Bowl.

Mililani swept the boys and girls team titles, while Kapolei's Kimie Roller and Pearl City's James Pirtle claimed individual crowns.

The Trojan girls won their first title since 2000 and snapped 'Aiea's three-year reign. That despite their top bowler having a subpar day.

"Even though I didn't do good as an individual, we still won as a team," said Diana Ishida, who averaged 195 during the regular season but averaged 172 yesterday.

The West champion Trojans beat East runner-up Castle, 2,496 to 2,411 in the semifinals before defeating West runner-up Pearl City, 2,686 to 2,391 in the final.

The Chargers beat East champion Kalani, 2,865 to 2,670 in the semifinals.

The Trojans boys won their fourth title in six years. The West champs beat East runner-up McKinley, 2,875 to 2,740 in the semis before knocking off East champion Kalani, 3,098 to 2,786 in the championship.

Kalani beat Pearl City, 3,114 to 3,099 in the semifinals.
