The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa's first charity golf tournament raised a little more than $50,000 this month to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hawaii.

The event was held Oct. 19 at the Hawai'i Prince Golf Club. There were 56 teams representing 46 businesses, with 175 golfers participating, according to hotel spokesman Scott Kawasaki.

Incorporated late in 1982, Make-A-Wish Hawaii is the 13th of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America's 69 chapters in 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam.
