Halloween arrives early on "NightTime With Andy Bumatai," the local nighttime TV show, which tapes at 5 p.m. today at the Tropics Surf Club, Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Residents and visitors are invited to don Halloween gear and makeup to join Andy's Halloween Cool Costume Contest. Shows will air at 9:35 p.m. on KFVE/K5 and CW93 (Oceanic digital channel 93) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Prizes will be given for the best costumes. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

WORKSHOP TO COVER SUPPORT SERVICES

It's National Aging in Place Week, and the Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society will host a free workshop and exhibit aimed at elderly who live independently. Panel speakers will present information about different in-home services, financing options and other support services. Speakers and exhibitors include representatives from AARP, Alzheimer's Association, Catholic Charities Hawai'i, Child and Family Service's Honolulu Gerontology program and Comforting Hands Hawaii. The workshop and exhibit will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ala Moana Hotel's Garden Lanai. Details: hpgs.hawaii@gmail.com or 840-1819.
