McLachlin's second-round 68 includes eagle, 3 birdies

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu's Parker McLachlin used an eagle and three birdies on the back nine en route to a 5-under-par 68 today in the second round of the PGA Tour's Ginn sur Mer Classic at the Tesoro Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

McLachlin, who is at 7-under 139, is seven strokes behind clubhouse co-leaders Bob Estes (68) and Tommy Armour (68).

After missing the cut in his past four tournaments, McLachlin was well inside the projected cut line (1 under) when play was suspended by rain with several golfers yet to complete their rounds. The second round will continue tomorrow.

McLachlin got his eagle on the par-5 No. 16 hole and made consecutive 30-foot birdie shots on the par-4 14th and 15th holes.
