JAWAIIAN AND GRINDS

The first Jawaiian Barbeque Cookoff and Music Festival is, just as its name says, about food and music. That means edibles offered by 20 restaurants and performances by Natural Vibrations, Ooklah the Moc, Insight, Micah G & Frontline, Konfrontation, Mr. 83 and Jah Rootz. It's happening Nov. 17 at Kualoa Ranch; gates open at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15 advance, $20 at the gate. It's an all-ages event; those under 12 enter free with a paying adult. Tickets are available at Crouching Lion Art Gallery, Hatsby at Windward Mall, Rasta Headquarters, Jelly's and Hungry Ear. www.groovetickets.com.

'MAN OF LA MANCHA'

The Broadway evergreen "Man of La Mancha" returns to the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Kennedy Theatre after more than 20 years. John Mount stars as Cervantes/Don Quixote, who "dreams the impossible dream"; Glenn Cannon directs.
