Worked for 25 years at the Kauai Surf Hotel; retired after 17 years as employee of Kaua'i Parks Division. Survived by wife, Wanda Holt Aki; sons, Fred Jr., John and Lono Aki, and Jason Carvalho; daughters, Melissia and Naylene; mother, MaryAnn; sister, Marian Delapenia; brothers, William, Alfred, Richard, Melvin and George Aki; grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
