CFB-WAC: Louisiana Tech keeps Utah St. winless, 31-21

LOGAN, Utah — Patrick Jackson and Daniel Porter each rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns to lead Louisiana Tech past Utah State 31-21 today.

Porter rushed for 129 yards on 22 carries. Jackson had 101 yards on 14 carries for the Bulldogs (3-5, 2-3 Western Athletic Conference), who won for the first time on the road this season in four tries.

Louisiana Tech finished with 518 yards of offense, including 351 in the second half. Jacob Actkinson, Curtis Marsh and Kevin Robinson each scored a touchdown for the Aggies (0-8, 0-4), who lost their school-record 14th straight game.

Robinson, the nation's leader in all-purpose yards, finished with 179 total yards. He came into the game averaging 208.3 all-purpose yards.

Zac Champion was 23-of-29 for 230 yards passing for the Bulldogs. Twelve different Louisiana Tech receivers caught at least one pass in the game.

The Bulldogs led 10-7 at the half, but broke the game open with a pair of third-quarter touchdown runs — a 9 yard run by Jackson and 14 yard run by Porter.

Utah State had 2 yards of offense in the third quarter. Louisiana Tech jumped on top 10-0 in the first quarter on a career-long 47-yard field goal by Danny Horwedel and a 3-yard touchdown run by Jackson.

Utah State cut it to 10-7 with 9:02 left in the second quarter when Leon Jackson III threw an 82-yard touchdown pass to Actkinson.
