DOUGLAS WILLIAM BURMYLO, 31, died Sept. 18, 2007. Born in Woodbury, N.J. A submarine nuclear electrician for the U.S. Navy who lived in Waikiki for six years. FUGATE "DON" CARTY, died Sept. 27, 2007. Born in Pineville, Ky. A longtime Straub Clinic obstetrician/gynecologist who was instrumental in the planning and construction of Straub Hospital; president of the Honolulu Obstetrical and Gynecological Society and chief of Obstetrical and Gynecological Service at Kapi'olani Hospital. Survived by wife, Desiree; daughters, Andrea Bloomer, Melinda Dodge and Diana Carty; sons, Patrick, Timothy and Jeffrey; four grandchildren; and brother, Dr. Raymond Carty. Service 11:30 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008, at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

MAXIMINO T. CORPUZ, 92, formerly of Kalihi and Salt Lake, died Oct. 23, 2007. Born in Laoag City, Philippines. One of the original sakadas. A nine-night wake will be held in the Philippines. Burial ceremony next Saturday at the Catholic Church in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. Burial at Bacarra Municipal Cemetery.
