Big surf to continue along east-facing shores

A high surf advisory will remains in effect for east-facing shores today, with surf of 6 to 10 feet expected throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Elsewhere, the surf is expected to grow to 8 to 10 feet this afternoon along north-facing shores and 5 to 7 feet along west-facing shores.

Surf along south-facing shores will hold steady at 2 to 4 feet.

Strong trade winds northeast of the state will produce rough surf above the advisory threshold along east-facing shores through Monday with a slow decline expected by mid week. A moderate northwest swell arriving Sunday will persist through Tuesday, followed by another moderate northwest swell from late Wednesday through Thursday. Small to moderate surf will persist along south facing shores through the upcoming week.
