Warriors move up to No. 14 in BCS standings

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i football team moved up three spots to No. 14 in the Bowl Championship Series standings released today.

The Warriors (8-0) defeated New Mexico State, 50-13, Saturday.

The BCS standings are used at the end of the regular season to determine the matchups for the BCS games.

Ohio State is No. 1, followed by Boston College, LSU, Arizona State and Oregon.

The standings are calculated using the USA Today coaches poll, the Harris Interactive poll and six computer rankings.

Hawai'i is a member of the Western Athletic Conference, which is not a BCS conference. The Warriors need to finish in the top 12 of the final BCS standings in order to get an automatic berth to a marquee bowl game.

WAC member Boise State, who earned a BCS berth last season, is ranked No. 22 in today's BCS standings.
