2 felons arrested in Makiki facing federal firearm charges

Advertiser Staff

Federal authorities are investigating two men arrested by Honolulu police early yesterday in Makiki for firearm charges stemming from the alleged discovery of a shotgun and ammunition in their parked car.

The men, ages 33 and 20, were arrested at 5 a.m. by officers investigating a burglary in progress. Responding officers saw a suspicious vehicle parked near the burglary scene and arrested the men after a shotgun was seen on the floor in the vehicle.

The men were arrested for multiple firearm offenses, including being felons in possession of a prohibited weapon and ammunition.

Police reportedly turned the men over to federal authorities today.
