Police today arrested a 25-year-old man in Wai'anae who they said stabbed his mother and sister during a domestic argument.

The man also injured a male construction site security officer, 50, who tried to prevent him from fleeing the scene, police said.

The attacks on the two women at 85-128 Ala Walua was reported to police at 3:07 p.m.

Robert Rios III, 25, who has an outstanding $500 warrant, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. fronting 85-128D Ala Walua on suspicion of three counts of second-degree assault.

The two women, ages 44 and 24, were taken to The Queen's Medical Center, where they are in stable condition, said City Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

According to police, the women are the mother and sister of the suspect.

Police said the suspect went to his moither's home where an argument ensued. He allegedly slashed his mother and stabbed his sister before fleeing.

The security officer was treated for minor injuries at the Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and later released, police said.
