Warriors remain tops in scoring in NCAA statistics

The University of Hawai'i football team continues to lead the nation in scoring, averaging 51.9 points, according to the latest statistics released by the NCAA.

The Warriors (7-0) defeated New Mexico State, 50-13, Saturday. Oklahoma is No. 2 in scoring with a 44.5 points-per-game average.

UH quarterback Colt Brennan is No. 2 in total offense with 410.1 yards per game, behind Texas Tech's Graham Harrell (434.3).

Harrell leads in total passing yards with 3,979, followed by Louisville's Brian Brohm (3,229), Paul Smith of Tulsa (2,864) and Brennan (2,820).

Brennan is seventh in passing efficiency with a 160.3 rating (225 of 328 for 2,820 yards and 26 touchdowns). Tim Tebow of Florida leads with a 176.5 rating.

Three UH receivers are among the best in receiving yards per game behind Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree who is averaging 161.22 yards. Ryan Grice-Mullins is No. 6 (119.00), Jason Rivers No. 12 (96.71) and Davone Bess No. 18 (93.50).

Hawai'i is No. 2 in total offense with 532.8 yards per game. Texas Tech is No. 1 with 548 yards per game. UH is 39th in total defense allowing 338.8 yards per game; Ohio State is No. 1 with a 214.5 average.

UH is second in passing offense with 459.5 yards per game with Texas Tech leading with a 481.2-yard average.

The Warriors' Ryan Mouton is eighth in kickoff returns with a 31.30 yard average with Kevin Marion of Wake Forest leading with 33.89.

Colorado linebacker Jordon Dizon, a Kaua'i native, No. 3 the nation in tackles per game with 12.22. UH's Solomon Elimimian is tied for ninth at 11.25.
