Hawaii Kai water main repaired, another breaks

A water main break on Kaumakani Street in Hawai'i Kai was repaired overnight but a second water main broke on the same street this morning around 6:15 a.m., the Honolulu Board of Water Supply said today.The same 31 homes remain without water this morning, BWS spokeswoman Wanda Yamane said.
Repair crews responded around 3:30 p.m. yesterday to the first break in front of 388 Kaumakani St., near Kauhako and Honono streets, and made repairs early this morning, Yamane said.
The second break occurred at 360 Kaumakini St. when the repair crew put the water main back in service, Yamane said.
A "fresh crew" has been dispatched to work on the latest break, she said, and will be making repairs throughout the morning.
