Man detained following knife threat at Aloha Tower

Advertiser Staff

A 21-year-old man was arrested at Aloha Tower Marketplace about 5:30 a.m. today after an Aloha Tower security guard told police the man threatened him with a knife.

The guard told police he found the man rummaging through items aboard the Star of Honolulu, a tour boat that docks at Pier 8, and attempted to detain him.

The guard said the man was trying to flee from the area on a moped when state Harbor Police showed up and helped detain him until Honolulu Police officers arrived.

HPD officers recovered the knife and arrested the suspect on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
