Woman accused of hitting man in head with phone

Advertiser Staff

A 23-year-old woman was arrested at a Waikiki hotel about 2:40 a.m. this morning after a 32-year-old man told police she smashed him in the head with a telephone in the room where they had been staying.

The man told police the couple argued while attending a Waikiki dinner show and he decided to return to the Lewers Street hotel to clear out his belongings.

He said he left the woman at the show but she got back to the hotel room before he did.

The argument flared up as he was gathering his belongings and the woman hit him in the head two times with the telephone, the man told police.

He said he ran from the room and went to Straub Clinic and Hospital for an emergency medical exam.

Police said the man filed a complaint from the hospital and officers accompanied him to the hotel room, where they arrested the woman on suspicion of second-degree assault.
