Honolulu police setting up DUI checkpoints tonight

The Honolulu Police Department said it will be setting up DUI checkpoints tonight through the end of the year.

The checkpoints tonight will be set up at unannounced times and locations.

Police said that through Monday, 52 people have died on O'ahu through 46 traffic accidents, 20 that have been determined to be alcohol- or drug-related.

From Oct. 1, 2006, through Sept. 30, HPD officers arrested 3,861 impaired drivers.
