The company's first survey results in August show an overwhelming preference in trip party composition. When organizing a vacation, four in 10 travelers consider a trip to be last minute when planning within a time frame of less than one week.
Nearly three in 10 last minute travelers responded the same of planning two to three weeks in advance, and 22 percent chose just a three-day time frame. The remaining responses reveal that 9 percent of those surveyed thought that planning over a month ahead could still be considered last minute travel.
In a close race, 36 percent of last-minute vacations last three to four nights; according to the company's recently released survey results from the September poll.
This data is followed closely by the 32 percent of travelers who take last-minute trips of five nights or more, revealing a large preference for more than just the traditional weekend getaway when combined. On the other end of the last minute travel spectrum, nearly three in 10 respondents took late-breaking vacations of only one to two nights.
