Two Warriors make Dolphins squad, Esera cut
Advertiser Staff
Two of the three University of Hawaii players trying out for the Miami Dolphins have made the cut.The Dolphins today made 22 roster moves to get down to the NFL's mandatory 53-man roster limit.
Draftees Samson Satele, a center drafted in the second round, and running back Reagan Mauia, picked in the second, made the team. Satele has been a starter since early in camp.
The third UH player free agent signee Tala Esera, an offensive lineman, was cut.
Also today, the team activated CB AndreI Goodman off the Active/PUP list.
"This is always a difficult day," said Dolphins General Manager Randy Mueller on the team's Web site. "Everyone in camp did everything we asked of them. They worked hard, they had a positive attitude, and they embraced our 'team' philosophy.
"Unfortunately, the league requires us to cut our squad down to 53, so we certainly couldn't keep them all. We feel good about the guys on our team, and I think we have a good mix of veteran and young players on our roster."
The Dolphins' 53-man roster now consists of 13 rookies, including 10 draft choices and three college free agents.
